Bills force CUs to change names
June 13, 2018 -- A recently enacted Iowa bill, H.B. 2502, has a provision that will force two of the state’s credit unions,  the University of Iowa Community Credit Union  and University of Northern Iowa Credit Union, to change their names. The provision states that Iowa credit unions “shall not include the name of any public university located in the state in its name.”  The law goes into effect April 30, 2019.

Credit Union to Open Bluffs Branch
May 5, 2015 – Veridian Credit Union, headquartered in Waterloo, will open a branch office in Council Bluffs, a company official announced Monday.

Iowa's Credit Unions Finish 2014 Strong

March 26, 2015 – Iowa’s credit unions saw lending growth in the double-digits in 2014, according to figures released by the Iowa Credit Union League.

Community 1st Credit Union Names Jeff Rose as New President/CEO

November 17, 2014 – Ottumwa, Iowa –The Community 1st Credit Union board of directors has named Jeff Rose, a 30-year executive in the banking industry, as president/CEO of the 16-branch, Ottumwa-based credit union.

DuTrac, Chemical Credit Unions to Merge

November 11, 2014 – Chemical Credit Union and DuTrac Community Credit Union announced Monday that their boards of directors have agreed to merge the two Iowa credit unions.

Iowa Credit Unions No. 2 in Nation in Loan Growth

June 21, 2014 – Des Moines, Iowa – The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) released the Quarterly U.S. Map Review including Iowa credit union performance metrics, for the first quarter of 2014. According to the March 31, 2014 report, Iowa credit unions are ranked second in the nation in annual loan growth. Iowa credit unions also posted strong share and deposit growth.
