A
special message
from
Mary Martha Fortney, President and CEO,
March 23, 2007
You may have noticed NASCUS’ new Web site new look at www.nascus.org. The new design is the last portion of a year-long effort to redesign and refocus NASCUS’ communications engines including its print and electronic publications.
However, the redesign efforts are more than just a visual facelift. NASCUS has reinvigorated its commitment to using communications engines to one, provide resources to NASCUS regulator members and the Credit Union Advisory Council; and two, communicate the state system perspective on critical issues for state regulators and state-chartered credit unions.
In the newly designed website, you will find regulatory and legislative resources, information on emerging issues, NASCUS and state system news, state credit union facts and figures and updates on NASCUS initiatives and educational events. NASCUS is also planning new website features including the Director’s Corner, a page containing news and updates for credit union directors and a interactive web forum for NASCUS members (to come this summer.)
NASCUS has also continued production of its quarterly, bimonthly and biweekly publications in an effort to share information and keep NASCUS members updated. We’ve redesigned each publication including Stateline, The Regulatory Crier and Facts from Washington in the last year. Our publications can be found here.
Moreover, NASCUS communications is committed to ensure that the state regulatory and state credit union perspective is accurately and appropriately represented in the credit union system. Through active media relations activity, we are continuously providing NASCUS’ insight into current regulatory, legislative and philosophical credit union issues.
Also, NASCUS will continue serving as a source for state credit union system news. We encourage our members at state regulatory agencies, state credit unions and leagues to send NASCUS your news and keep us updated on happenings in your state. I encourage you to add NASCUS’ Communications Director Kate Hartig at kate@nascus.org to your news and press distribution lists.
NASCUS looks forward to hearing your feedback on our communications efforts, how we can improve and provide the best resources possible to you. Please email me with any ideas at marymartha@nascus.org. We hope you like the new look, and stay tuned for additional enhancements to NASCUS communications.
