ARLINGTON, Va. — Four new commissioners will participate in a NASCUS New Commissioner Orientation in Washington, D.C. October 2-3, 2007. Over the two days, commissioners will meet with federal regulators, U.S. Treasury officials and NASCUS management to learn more about NASCUS and the credit union system.
The new commissioners joining NASCUS October 2-3 include Sarah Bloom Raskin (MD), Steven Kaplan (PA), George Burns (NV) and Patricia Meadow (NY). “NASCUS looks forward to hosting the commissioners and providing them with a valuable introduction to NASCUS and policymakers in Washington, D.C.,” said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney.
In addition to meeting with NASCUS management, new commissioners will participate in the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Outreach Task Force Town Hall on October 2 in Arlington, Virginia. They will also meet with NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson and Jeremiah Norton, deputy assistant secretary for financial institutions at the U.S. Treasury.
NASCUS held its last New Commissioner Orientation in June. The event is held at least once a year.
