ARLINGTON, Va. — NASCUS will hold its Thirdly Business Meetings of its leadership, May 10-11, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The NASCUS Board of Directors and Credit Union Executive Council will meet to continue discussion on current and emerging issues and NASCUS strategic priorities and projects.
NASCUS leadership meets in-person three times a year, usually in February, May and prior to the NASCUS State System Summit in August. The group plans to discuss developments with unrelated business income tax (UBIT), proposed rules and NASCUS governance issues.
“NASCUS looks forward to the upcoming meetings of our association’s leadership,” said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney. “The in-person meetings allow us to have productive discussion on the important issues facing the credit union system and our organization. The work and commitment of volunteer leadership are integral to NASCUS’ progress towards its goals and priorities.”
The NASCUS Board of Directors is comprised of nine state regulators elected by NASCUS member state regulatory agencies and their personnel. The Credit Union Executive Council includes 12 district directors who are executives of state-chartered credit unions belonging to the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council.
The next leadership meetings will be August 7 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida prior to the 2007 State System Summit, August 9-11, 2007. To learn more about NASCUS and its leadership, visit the NASCUS Web site at www.nascus.org.
