ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) asked to participate in the National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) Seventh Budget Briefing and Public Forum on October 22, 2007.
NASCUS Chairman George Reynolds, senior deputy commissioner of the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance, will represent NASCUS at the briefing. He will focus on budget concerns that impact state regulators and state-chartered credit unions. Additionally, he will highlight state and federal regulators’ collaborative efforts to enhance the safety, soundness and efficiency of the credit union system.
“NASCUS is appreciative of the opportunity to participate in the briefing to ensure that state regulators and state-chartered credit unions are appropriately represented in this open and transparent budget process,” said Reynolds. “By providing input, we are helping to maintain NCUA’s responsible use of funds contributed by state credit union stakeholders.”
