SEATTLE, Wa. —The NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council held its Annual Meeting on August 22 where new Council directors were announced to the membership.
Linda Childs, Knoxville Post Office Credit Union, TN, was re-elected to a three-year term representing Advisory Council District II and Jason Boesch, Oklahoma RE&T Credit Union, OK, was elected to his first three-year term representing District III.
In addition, Credit Union Advisory Council Chairman Mendell Thompson appointed Steven Behler, Kemba Credit Union, OH, to the at-large Council Director position for a three-year term. Thompson of America's Christian Credit Union in Glendora, CA, will continue to serve as Advisory Council Chairman for one more year.
"I believe strongly in the importance of the Credit Union Advisory Council's work to strengthen and preserve the state credit union charter," said Thompson. "I look forward to continuing to work with the Executive Council to advance NASCUS' mission and to protect diversity and choice for credit unions."
The NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council also recognized several credit union CEOs for their dedication and years of service as Council directors. NASCUS shared its appreciation at the Annual Meeting to Lori Rush, Universal 1 Credit Union, OH; Gary Peterson, Financial Plus Credit Union, IA; and Rick Schmidkte, Harborstone Credit Union, WA for their commitment to NASCUS and the Credit Union Advisory Council over the years.
Behler, Boesch, Childs and Chairman Thompson join existing Executive Council members Jim Blaine, State Employees Credit Union, Raleigh, NC; Parker Cann, Columbia Credit Union, WA; Bob Fouch, Corporate Central Credit Union WI; Mary McDonald, USA Credit Union, MI; Debbie Peters, INCOL Credit Union, PA; Cathie Tierney, Community First Credit Union, WI; and Rick Rice, Teachers Credit Union, IN.
The Executive Council also elected its officers. Cann will continue to serve as Chairman-elect and Tierney as Secretary of the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council.
