ARLINGTON, Va. —NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council Chairman Mendell Thompson announced that Ed Bigby, Norbel Credit Union, Fort Collins, Colo., will serve as a director on the NASCUS Credit Union Executive Council.
A 40-year veteran of the financial services industry, Bigby has been involved in the credit union industry since the mid 1970s. Bigby is actively involved in NASCUS as a committee member and as the NASCUS State Liaison for Colorado. He has served on the boards of the Credit Union Executives Society and the Colorado Credit Union Association. Bigby currently serves as president and CEO of Norbel Credit Union.
“Ed will be a valuable addition to the Executive Council,” said Thompson. “He has been active in NASCUS and the state credit union system for years and will provide meaningful perspective in his role as director.”
Thompson, America’s Christian Credit Union, Calif., appointed Bigby to fill the unexpired term vacated by Rick Schmidtke, Harborstone Credit Union, Wash., who is retiring from the industry. Bigby’s term began on September 8 and will run until September 2009.
The NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council is governed by the Executive Council, a group of 12 directors who are credit union executives from around the country.
