ARLINGTON, Va. —NASCUS will testify before the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee on October 14 at its hearing to examine the state of the banking industry.
NASCUS Chairman Thomas Candon, deputy commissioner of the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration, will represent NASCUS and the state credit union system at the hearing. Candon will share insights on the condition of state credit unions and offer perspectives on how credit union safety and soundness can be protected into the future.
NASCUS Chairman Candon will testify with National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman Debbie Matz; North Carolina Commissioner of Banks and Conference of State Bank Supervisors Chairman Joseph Smith; Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chairman Sheila Bair; Comptroller of the Currency John Dugan; Federal Reserve Governor Daniel Tarullo; and Timothy Ward, Office of Thrift Supervision Deputy Director, Examinations, Supervision, and Consumer Protection.
