TWO ELECTED, ONE APPOINTED TO NASCUS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Four re-elected to Credit Union Advisory Council director seats

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Two credit union regulators have been elected to seats on the board of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS), and one state credit union supervisor has been appointed to a board seat.

Elections and appointments have also been made to the Credit Union Advisory Council of NASCUS.

Mary Ellen O’Neill and John Kolhoff were both elected to three-year terms on the NASCUS Board, the result of elections held among the regulator membership this fall. O’Neill – who was re-elected to a seat on the board (and is also the chairman-elect of the association) – is the director of the financial institution division of the Connecticut Department of Banking. Kolhoff is the director, office of credit unions, for the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.

Tamilee Smull, manager of the credit union division of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions, has been appointed by NASCUS Chairman Steve Pleger to a one-year term on the NASCUS Board, as provided by the association’s bylaws (one seat on the board is appointed by the chairman). Pleger is senior deputy commissioner of the Georgia Department of Banking & Finance.

Only regulators may be elected or appointed to seats on the NASCUS board.

Meanwhile, the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council (which is made up of representatives of credit unions that are members of the association, and which advises and consults with the NASCUS Board to further the mission and objectives of NASCUS, as well as to strengthen the state credit union system), re-elected four members. They are:

  • Patty Idol, Mountain CU, Sylva, N.C. (currently Chairman-Elect, has served on the Council since 2013);
  • Cathie Tierney, Community First CU, Appleton, Wis. (has served on the Council since 2003);
  • Ron McDaniel, California CU, Glendale, Calif. (has served on the Council since 2012);
  • Mike Williams, Colorado CU, Littleton, Colo. (has served on the Council since 2013).

Council Chairman Linda Childs of TNConnect CU in Knoxville, Tenn., re-appointed Bob Fouch, Corporate Central CU, Muskego, Wis., to a member-at-large seat on the Credit Union Advisory Council, for a three-year term. He has served on the Council since 2006.
