March 17, 2008 - At the NASCUS Compliance and Examination Red Flags Seminar, May 5-7 in Columbus, Ohio, financial industry experts from across the nation will present information on critical credit union compliance issues.
NASCUS encourages regulators, examiners and credit union management of all levels to attend and prepare for the regulatory challenges facing examiners and credit unions this year.
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance and member business lending issues are often cited as the critical examination elements as well as important aspects of credit union operations. As such, NASCUS will devote a half-day of this seminar to each of these essential topics. NASCUS’ own SVP of Regulatory Affairs Brian Knight will kick off the event with a session on BSA. Doug Lacy-Roberts, financial examiner supervisor with the State of Washington will also provide a half-day on member business lending red flags.
Sessions topics also include mortgage lending, the FACT Act’s new identify theft provisions, evaluating third party vendors, consumer compliance legal issues and more.
NASCUS is able to offer this seminar to regulators and examiners for $799, $999 for Credit Union Advisory Council members and $1,299 for nonmembers which includes materials, lodging and many meals. If you have specific questions, please email Jenny Champagne at jenny@nascus.org. NISCUE scholarships are available for state examiners.
