State Regulatory Mortgage Project – A Step Toward a Solution to the Mortgage Crisis – Gavin Gee, director, Idaho Department of Finance
Since 2004, state mortgage regulators have worked to develop a nationwide licensing system for the residential mortgage industry to improve supervision, streamline the licensing process and enhance consumer protection. Gavin Gee, Chair of the State Regulatory Registry, a past NASCUS Chairman and Pierre Jay Award honoree will update Summit attendees on how this project is bringing greater uniformity and transparency to the mortgage industry while maintaining and strengthening the ability of state regulators to monitor the industry and protect their citizens!

The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is a web-based system that allows state licensed mortgage lenders, mortgage brokers and loan officers to apply for, amend, update or renew a license online for all participating state agencies using a single set of uniform applications. The NMLS began operation on January 2, 2008.

Generation Y… and Why Your Credit Union Can’t Afford to Miss Them - Bryan Sims, founder and CEO, brass|MEDIA Inc., Corvallis, Oregon
As the biggest population boom since the Baby Boomers, Generation Y is going to change the way your credit union does business. They don’t act the same way, think the same way, or communicate the same way as previous generations. The question is: Are you prepared for this change?

Does your credit union turn away young adults with no credit? Or how about offering a free box of checks when today's young adult swipes plastic and shops online? This session will discuss the ins and outs of how credit unions can reach young adult members by understanding the way they think, and using real examples from other financial institutions across the country.
