Maryland State Regulator Takes Oath of Office as Fed Governor
Oct. 6, 2010 Sarah Bloom Raskin, now former Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation, is a new member of the Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve System.
Raskin took her oath of office on October 4. She was nominated to the seat vacated by Donald L. Kohn on September 1, 2010. Her term ends January 31, 2016.
Raskin served as head of the Maryland state regulatory agency since August 2007.
Previously, she was Banking Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and Managing Director at Promontory Group.
She was sworn in with Janet Yellen, who will serve as Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. NASCUS congratulates Raskin on her new role, and thanks her for her contributions to the state credit union system during her time as a state regulator.
