Arizona Announces New Superintendent of Financial Institutions

April 12, 2010 — Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer announced that Mr. Lauren Kingry has been appointed as Superintendent of Financial Institutions of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions.

Kingry has nearly 40 years of banking and financial experience, having served most recently as the Interim President and CEO of Valley Capital Bank in Mesa, Arizona. At the Department, he will be responsible for overseeing the licensure and supervision and regulation of all state-chartered entities.

He follows Acting Superintendent Thomas Wood, who will return to his role as Division Manager at the Department. The Credit Union Division also has a new Manger, Tami Smull, replacing Sue Ann Meyer who has retired from the agency. To read more, follow this link to the Governor's website.
