Kentucky Regulator to Join NASCUS Board, Hughes to Fill Reynolds Unexpired Term
May 4, 2010 NASCUS Chairman Tom Candon (VT) has announced changes to the NASCUS Board of Directors. Due to Past Chairman George Reynolds' (GA) recent retirement, an unexpired term has emerged resulting in changes on the NASCUS Board.
Current Board member Mary Hughes (ID) has been appointed to fill Reynolds' term, expiring September 2012, and Kathy Stewart (KY) has been appointed to the Board to fill Hughes' current one-year term, expiring in September 2010. Linda Jekel, Washington's Director of Credit Unions, will also now return to the Past Chairman officer position in Reynolds' place.
This will be Stewart's first term on the NASCUS Board of Directors. She currently serves as Director of the Division of Financial Institutions for the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions. Hughes, the Financial Institutions Bureau Chief of the Idaho Department of Finance, was appointed to the Board in 2008.
"NASCUS is grateful for the ongoing commitment of our volunteer Board of Directors," said Candon, the deputy commissioner of banking and securities for the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration. "We are excited to welcome Kathy to the Board, and also thank Mary for her continued service. I would also like to thank our Past Chairman George Reynolds for his many years of commitment to NASCUS and the state credit union system. His perspectives and contributions to our organization will be missed, and we wish him well in his future endeavors."
