NASCUS Chairman to Present at WOCCU Regulators Roundtable This Week

July 12, 2010 — NASCUS Chairman Tom Candon (VT) is a speaker at this week's 2010 World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Regulators Roundtable, July 15-16. He will join regulators from around the world and nation to discuss critical issues in the regulation of credit unions and other global cooperatives.

Candon will present with Canadian regulator Paul Kennett on July 16 to discuss business lending and elements of credit risk. The agenda also features presentations from NCUA regulators and representatives from countries including Brazil, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Candon's remarks focus on the importance of expertise and due diligence for credit union MBL. He also plans to cover an overview of MBL in today's credit unions and what regulators are looking at when examining CU member business lending programs.

More than 30 regulators of financial cooperatives from across the globe are expected to attend this week's WOCCU event.
