NASCUS Announces Changes to Credit Union Leadership Advisory Group
July 20, 2010 NASCUS has announced changes to the Credit Union Executive Council, the governing group of NASCUS' CU Advisory Council.
The NASCUS Credit Union Executive Council is comprised of 12 directors who are credit union executives from around the country. They serve in an advisory capacity to NASCUS Board of Directors on issues impacting the state credit union system.
Dan Kester of Sooper Credit Union in Colorado has been appointed to serve as a Director of the NASCUS Credit Union Executive Council. For 14 years, Kester has held the position of President and CEO of Sooper Credit Union in Lakewood, Colo, and has served on several national and state credit union committees and groups. Kester follows Ed Bigby of Norbel Credit Union which recently merged with a Texas credit union. Kester's term runs until September 2012.
Further, Steve Behler, current Executive Council Director and president of Kemba Credit Union, Ohio, was elected by the Executive Council to serve as Secretary of the group in Bigby's place, who held the officer role for the past year.
"The NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council is thankful for Ed's service to NASCUS and the state credit union system over the years. He made significant contributions to our group and is a dedicated supporter of the state system," said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney. "We are also excited to welcome Dan as a Director and we are positive he will represent his home state and region with enthusiasm."
