Connecticut's Pitkin Appointed to NASCUS Board, Hughes of Idaho Selected Secretary/Treasurer
Jan. 31, 2011 NASCUS Chairman Tom Candon (VT) recently announced changes to the NASCUS Board of Directors.
First, Chairman Candon appointed Howard Pitkin, commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Banking, to the NASCUS Board of Directors. Pitkin previously served on the NASCUS Board of Directors from 2003-2005 when he was the agency's Administrator of Depository Institutions. He has more than 30 years of experience as a state regulator. Pitkin is filling an unexpired one-year term, ending in Sept. 2011.
Second, the NASCUS Board of Directors elected Mary Hughes, Idaho Department of Finance's Financial Institutions Bureau Chief, to serve as the group's Secretary/Treasurer. Hughes follows Sue Cowan who held this officer position as a board member when she most recently served as the Director of the Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions."NASCUS welcomes Howard back to our NASCUS Board of Directors," said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney. "We are confident he will provide invaluable contributions to our leadership group. NASCUS also congratulates Mary Hughes on being selected as Secretary/Treasurer.
