President Nominates D.C. Credit Union President to NCUA Board
Oct. 21, 2011 - President Barack Obama nominated Carla M. León-Decker to serve as a Board Member of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
Upon Senate confirmation, León-Decker will fill the seat currently held by Gigi Hyland. Her NCUA Board term ended in August.
León-Decker is the President and CEO of the D.C. Federal Credit Union. Prior to D.C. Federal, she also held positions at PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union and Transportation Federal Credit Union. She is a credit union development educator and Co-Founder and Director of the Network of Latino Credit Unions & Professionals. She received her B.A. from Southeastern University and her M.A. in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.
Before taking office at NCUA, León-Decker will face the Senate Banking Committee and a full Senate vote to confirm her nomination. To read the White House press release, follow this link.
