NASCUS Holds Third Annual Directors College in North Carolina
May 3, 2011 NASCUS gathered North Carolina credit union directors and management for a day-long event focused on continuing education for directors.
Nearly 40 credit union directors and executives joined NASCUS in Raleigh on April 29 for the third annual North Carolina Directors College. Since 2008, NASCUS has traveled the country to provide continuing education for directors concentrating on enhancing directors’ understanding of the critical statutory, fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities of a director.
The agenda for the April 29 event covered a variety of topics including a financial statement review, compliance updates, asset liability management, best practices in board education, a briefing on national issues impacting credit unions and a presentation by North Carolina state regulators on what to expect from the examination process.
The College’s faculty included John Radebaugh and Jeanne Couchois, North Carolina Credit Union Network; Lisa Boylen, First Carolina Corporate Credit Union; Judy Tharp, Piedmont Advantage Credit Union; Kate Hartig, NASCUS; and Jerrie Jay and Rose Conner, North Carolina Credit Union Division.
NASCUS thanks the North Carolina Credit Union Division and the North Carolina Credit Union Network for their partnership on this event. NASCUS will hold its next Directors College in Utah on June 13 and Wisconsin on June 29. If your state is interested in director education, contact Jenny Champagne at email@example.com.
