NASCUS Directors Colleges Announced in Wisconsin and Utah

May 5, 2011 —Back by popular demand, NASCUS will return to Utah on June 13, 2011 and Wisconsin on June 29, 2011 to hold the second annual Directors Colleges in those states.

As the nation recovers from the “Great Recession,” financial institution regulators, consumers, as well as Congress continue to focus their attention on the manner in which boards of directors carry out their responsibilities. At the same time, the amount of new and changing regulations impacting credit unions is unprecedented. This challenging, yet exciting, time for credit union directors makes director training even more important.

NASCUS in partnership with the Utah Department of Financial Institutions and the Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions encourage board members, supervisory committees and other volunteers along with credit union management to join NASCUS for these one-day events.

The Directors Colleges are focused on enhancing directors' understanding of their regulatory responsibilities as well as enhancing their knowledge of the latest regulatory and operational issues impacting credit in unions. The agenda for both colleges is entirely different from last year's colleges and features sessions on preparing for the credit union’s next examination, emerging examination issues, asset liability management for boards, critical compliance issues, due diligence and more. We encourage attendees of our previous colleges as well as new attendees to plan to be at either important event.
