Longtime NASCUS Member and State Regulator from Mississippi Announces Retirement

Sept. 28, 2011 - John Allison, Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Banking and Consumer Finance, announced that he is retiring from state service September 30, 2011.

An active member of NASCUS for many years, Allison spent 40 years with the Mississippi state agency. He was also active in the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and was instrumental in the launch of the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NLMS).

"On behalf of NASCUS and state regulators, we wish John all the best in retirement," said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney. "We are also very grateful for his many and lasting contributions to both the state credit union and banking systems in his long and distinguished state regulatory career."
