NASCUS Holds Asset Liability Management Training for Examiners
June 13, 2012 - NASCUS recently partnered with the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Financial Institutions (DFI) for an examiner training on asset liability management (ALM) and related investment issues. The training was also attended by examiners from other states.
The faculty for the school included Rob Johnson, Executive Vice President, and Tim Busby, Vice President from C. Myers. They led attendees through more than two days of in-depth training on ALM, evaluating net economic value (NEV), traditional income simulation, long-term net worth at risk simulations and rate shocks.
The examiner training also included “hands on” case studies evaluating and analyzing an institution’s interest rate risk (IRR) and a discussion of the new National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) final rule instituting various new requirements for credit unions to address interest rate risk.
State agencies seeking specific training for examiners should contact Isaida Woo at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how we can bring training to your state.
