NASCUS’ Fortney Re-elected to Another Two-Year Term on Women in Housing and Finance Foundation Board of Directors

June 10, 2014 NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney has been re-elected to another two-year term on the Women in Housing and Finance (WHF) Foundation Board.

The WHF Foundation Board consists of members of WHF, Inc., who are professionals in the areas of finance, housing and law. The core mission of the organization is to partner with local nonprofit organizations whose missions are to help low-income women and children with basic financial literacy skills, housing assistance, transition services and economic empowerment.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be able to continue to serve on the WHF Foundation Board of Directors,” Fortney said. “I look forward to the continued growth of the Foundation in support of its mission.”

Fortney currently serves as WHF Foundation president, and is a past president of WHF, Inc. She has been dedicated to the mission of WHF for more than 20 years.

Fortney’s appointment to the WHF Foundation Board was made during the WHF Annual Meeting last night at the law firm of K&L Gates LLP in Washington, D.C. As part of the meeting, Dr. Mark M. Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, discussed the economic conditions impacting the recovery of the housing sector and GSE reform. Moody’s Analytics, a subsidiary of Moody’s Corp., is a leading provider of economic research, data and analytical tools. Zandi is a cofounder of Economy.com, which Moody’s purchased in 2005.
