Tina Miller takes reins in Tennessee as top CU supervisor
AUG. 21, 2015 -- Tina G. Miller has officially taken the reins as top credit union supervisor in Tennessee, according to a release from the state’s financial institutions department.
Miller succeeds Harry “Pat” Murphy as leader of the state department’s Credit Union Division, and will have the title of assistant Commissioner, as did Murphy. “In this capacity, Ms. Miller will provide leadership and management oversight to the department’s Credit Union Division,” stated Greg Gonzales, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions (TDFI). “She will also continue to manage the Administrative Division as well as work collectively with me and department leadership to supervise all department operations,” he added.
Miller served as the department’s general counsel and specifically for more than 20 years provided legal counsel to the Credit Union Division. Gonzales noted that she has been an integral part of TDFI "achieving and maintaining accreditation under the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS)."
Lucy Ito, president and CEO of NASCUS, extended congratulations to the new top Tennessee supervisor. "We all look forward to working with Tina in her new capacity, and share her commitment to a safe and sound system of financial institutions while giving institutions the opportunity to contribute to the economic progress of their respective communities and states," Ito said.
