NASCUS PRESIDENT AND CEO LUCY ITO THANKS BRYAN SCHNEIDER
FOR HIS SERVICE TO NASCUS AND THE STATE CREDIT UNION SYSTEM

ARLINGTON, Va. – Recently, NASCUS Regulator Board Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Bryan Schneider, announced he will be departing the agency as part of the state’s gubernatorial transition.

“NASCUS has benefited immensely from Bryan’s wisdom and insight at the NASCUS board table and from the leadership he forged within his agency.  Thanks to Bryan’s vision and commitment to the highest standards of state supervision, Illinois joined the ranks of NASCUS-accredited agencies,” said NASCUS President and CEO Lucy Ito.

“Bryan has also been a staunch supporter of the dual charter system, working with NCUA on issues ranging from the private share insurance option, interstate branching, and preserving state authority to interpret the Member Business Lending/Commercial Lending Rule,” continued Ito. “Bryan has been a voice for regulatory right-sizing coupled with firm consumer protection—all within the framework of well-coordinated multi-state supervision and cooperation with state and federal partners.”

“On behalf of the NASCUS Regulator Board, Credit Union Advisory Council, members and staff, I thank Bryan for his contributions to the Illinois credit union charter, NASCUS and to the broader state credit union system.”

The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) is the primary resource and voice of the state governmental agencies that charter, regulate and examine the nation’s state-chartered credit unions. NASCUS membership is made up of state-chartered credit unions, state regulators and other supporters of the state credit union system. NASCUS is the only organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of the state credit union charter and the autonomy of state credit union regulatory agencies.
