NASCUS Leadership Traveling to Atlanta and San Francisco to Meet with State Regulators this Week

January 11, 2010 — NASCUS will continue its regional regulator meeting series this week in Atlanta, Ga. and San Francisco, Calif.

In November, NASCUS began the series in the Northeast where more than 20 state regulators representing eight states joined NASCUS Chairman Tom Candon (VT) and NASCUS management for small group discussion on critical issues affecting state credit unions. In meetings on January 11 in Atlanta Ga., and January 13 in San Francisco, Calif., NASCUS will meet with state regulators from 12 different states representing the Southeast, West and Northwest.

"Given the complexity of the regulatory and legislative landscape, providing opportunities for our members to gather in small group settings is incredibly valuable to our state regulators, but also for NASCUS as we represent state regulators' interests in Washington, D.C.," said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney. "Our regional regulator meeting series is widely attended by our members and that is a testament to the value they place on face-to-face dialogue with their state regulatory partners."

The regional regulator series began in 2005. NASCUS state regulators will also gather on a national basis at the annual NCUA/NASCUS State Regulators National Meeting, March 7-9, and at the NASCUS State System Summit, Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
