NASCUS Continued Regional Regulator Meeting Series in San Francisco

July 26, 2011 - State credit union regulators from across the western states met in San Francisco recently for another of the ongoing Regional Regulator meetings held by NASCUS.  The Regional Meetings provide state regulators an opportunity to discuss issues concerning oversight, examination, and the credit union system in a smaller setting.  Thirteen regulators from eight states participated in the San Francisco meeting.

During the July 12, 2011 meeting, participants discussed the economic conditions in their states and the corresponding effects on their financial institutions. Issues related to examination and supervision and coordination with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) were also discussed, as were published or anticipated proposed rule changes affecting state-chartered federally insured credit unions. The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of best practices between the states.
