CO's Salazar named deputy director for regulatory agencies

Aug. 15, 2016 -- Patricia Salazar, now the financial services commissioner for the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), will become the department’s deputy executive director, effective Aug. 22.

State Bank Commissioner Chris Myklebust, who had previously led the division of financial services from 2006 to 2015, has been appointed acting commissioner of financial services while a search for a permanent successor is underway, according to DORA Executive Director Joe Neguse in a press release.

Salazar joined DORA last fall, after having served as a deputy commissioner for the California Department of Business Oversight. During her tenure as financial services commissioner, Neguse said in the release, Salazar involved stakeholders in the rulemaking process early-on, greatly expanding the Division’s engagement efforts -- including spearheading a month-long financial literacy awareness campaign involving multiple DORA divisions.

“I look forward to stepping into this new role to further assist Executive Director Neguse with fulfilling DORA’s critical mission of consumer protection,” Salazar stated in the release.
